Fools Crow by James Welch

Fiction Regarding young man white man dog and later known as fools crow the story is based upon dreams, loss, honour, and changes in traditional beliefs.  Fools crow sticks to his native traditions while others do not; like fast horse.  It clearly shows the importance of honour in the Native American traditions.  The ways Pikunis acknowledge white man dog wisdom that prioritise the good of their people before personal honour.
After reading the story, I was able to understand the importance of having the honour of fool’s crow.  In the confusions of paths we lose many of the important things giving in our lives; like pride and dignity when we give it away to others, it teaches lessons on how we should stick to our own beliefs, values, and traditions we are raised with; not able to change them overnight because it was passed down by ancestors and it gave us the name we have today.
